Hi there! I'd definitely stick with the size M for the bottoms, as these run true to size. For the bra I think size L would be the most comfortable for her - the fabric is quite stretchy and the cups will give just the right amount of coverage for a D cup. That doesn't answer my question. I asked how the fit of the Calla Cami compares to the fit of the Clover Topb/c the Calla appears looser fitting. And FYI, the Clover Top is also advertised as fitting 'true to size' but I'm almost always an XS in tops and the medium Clover is still extra tight fitting...not so true to size.

Hello! This style is recommended for A-C cup usually, D or DD might be tricky to achieve a comfortable fit. In this style, Medium might fit best. We have two other styles in stretch silk, Vina Bralette and Romy Bralette, that we recommend for D or DD cup. Please let us know if we can help in any other way.

We think that either size would work out depending on the kind of fit you prefer. We’d suggest M for a tailored/close fit or L for a more relaxed and comfortable fit. Please note that the material and trim will slightly stretch and mound to your body shape after a few wears.
