Hey there! You're totally right, sorry about that. This is our model Benji and he does wear a size medium typically - however these pants have always fit a bit larger than other styles. I just re-measured our size XS and the waist does measure 28" around UN-stretched, however there is elastic in the waistband which allows for extra room! It stretches to be 34" around.
