HI the armpit to armpit across the front measures 16 1/2" , 33" total. the center front length is 34". for this dress you want the shoulders, and bust area to fit nice and smooth and then the rest of the dress is meant to have some volume. let me know if you want any other measurements. thank you! amy

hi 34" is length from center front. shoulder to hem is 39". yes it is machine washable. i recommend machine wash cold delicate and hang dry
