Named the 2016 runner-up for the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund, Adam Selman is no stranger to risk and experimentation. After graduating in 2004 from the Pratt Institute, Selman went on to create custom performance looks for the likes of Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, and other pop superstars, while collaborating closely with Rihanna to create some of her most iconic looks (including the 2014 Swarovski-studded naked dress she wore to accept the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Awards). In 2013, Selman decided to launch his own eponymous label, ADAMSELMAN, through which he explores his obsessions with current events by imbuing them with nostalgic cues; the result is a world of contemporary true crime mixed with disco, mixed with shadows of costumery. While maintaining his label, Salman continues to design tours for Rihanna, Beyoncé and many others, as well as pursuing successful collaborations, most notably with the eyewear company Le Specs.
