Laurs Kemp hails from the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, where she spent hot summers watching old movies and sketching dresses inspired by them. Now based in Portland, she continues to design with inspiration gathered from cinema, early 1980s art students, sculpture, and the Female Gaze. Rather than following the traditional fashion calendar, she specializes in small-batch capsule collectsions that are seasonless. Her pieces are made-to-order, so please allow 5-8 days before they ship. Each collectsion is sewn right in her studio, all screen-printed items are printed locally, and fabric scraps are donated to Gem Text Recycling, making them a zero-waste studio.
