Clayton Chan, co-founder and creative director, named 017 after messing around on Photoshop and discovering he really liked the way the numbers looked together. That simple visual pushed him to build it into a brand. Situated in Vancouver’s Gastown, this shop provides an original perspective on fashion through a diverse and thoughtful selection of designers. By combings through the market for hard-to-find labels and sought-after contemporary designers, Chan stocks the space with everything from t-shirts to pants to coats that all blur the line between traditional mens- and womenswear 017’s motto: “If we don’t have full faith in a brand and their product, we simply will not carry it.” Amen.
