Some colors of vegetable-tanned leather, especially lighter and brighter ones, may change more noticeably over time. To help prolong its original color, keep it out of direct sunlight where possible and store it in a dust bag when not in use. This is due to the natural dyeing process using plant-based tannins rather than harmful chemicals. Darker colors may transfer onto lighter colors. Vegetable-tanned leather is full of character, and depending on which part of the skin the bag is cut from, each one will be slightly different in texture and uniquely individual. We recommend occasionally treating it with leather food to moisturize and protect it.
