Embroidered Silk Noil Bandana

Each piece in this collaboration carries the hum of a vintage chain-stitch machine, the kind once used to craft classic Western wear. Guided by a steady hand rather than a computer, the embroidery grows line by line, thread by thread. No two are alike, each design bearing the subtle rhythm of the artisan who stitched it at our Fair Trade certified facility in India. These soft, earthy tones are achieved through a natural dye process using plants and minerals, carried out by skilled artisans in India. Often called raw silk, silk noil is spun from shorter fibers left over from the making of other silks. The result is a fabric with a soft, nubby texture and matte surface that feels cozy and lived-in, almost like handwoven cotton. Silk noil bandanas are perfect travel companions, keeping you comfortable in both hot and cool climates. They stay put when worn in your hair, soften beautifully over time, and only get better the more you wear them.
