About the brand First launched within the ISSEY MIYAKE line in 1988, this pleats line grew until it became a brand of its own with an independent Spring/Summer 1994 collectsion. Issey Miyake developed a patented technique called Finished Pleating for the foundation of this brand. Unlike most pleated products, where the fabric is first pleated and then cut and sewn, a PLEATS PLEASE garment is first cut and sewn from the original fabric and pleated after the garment is sewn together. PLEATS PLEASE reflects Issey Miyake's fundamental concept that "design is not for philosophy, but for life," and continues to evolve today. Care DO NOT: dry clean, steam, iron, bleach, tumble dry, or use fabric softener. Machine wash cold, delicate cycle. Dry flat in the shade. Do not line dry. Select your size based on length: Pleats Please garments have a unique size scale that is based on garment length. Size 1 is the shortest length and size 5 is the longest length. Due to the garment pleating technique, which provides great stretch and comfort, there is only a minor change in the garment width between sizes, so you should select your size based on length only. On average, the difference between sizes is approximately 12" in length with slight variations in armhole openings. Shorter customers may opt for lengths 4 and 5, and taller customers may choose shorter lengths depending on their preference.
