During the production process, sewing machine oil or similar substances may get on the product and leave an odor. If you are concerned about this, dissolve commercially available soda sesquicarbonate in hot water between 40C and 60C, soak for about an hour, and then wash normally to help reduce the odor. If the effect is minimal after one wash, repeating the wash may further reduce it.
