This pair of button-zipper boots comes from the Katsuya Tokunaga Atelier Tokyo program. Katsuya Tokunaga, founder of Rolling Dub Trio, oversees this irregularly released collectsion of leather products. Each piece is crafted using the finest materials sourced from around the world, aiming to create the ultimate boots. Inspired by a 1916 photograph of a child in New York wearing fabric button boots, the Boys model reimagines this historic footwear with both heritage and modern practicality. Its slightly rounded, fuller silhouette echoes childrens footwear while retaining classic gentlemans button boot details, including a straight vamp to the heel, punched cap toe, and leather sole. To suit contemporary lifestyles, a YKK EXCELLA zipper with a custom-covered pull is added for enhanced function and aesthetics. Since its 2009 debut, the model has undergone refinements and, from 2025, is built to the highest standards: the upper uses robust yet lustrous box calf from Germanys Weinheimer, the shaft is soft Italian Incas baby calf, and each pair is meticulously hand-finished by Asakusa dress shoe artisans.
