A top we reach for again and again that has a flattering fit and all-season round wearability. - 50% Tanguis Cotton, 50% Viscose - Made in Peru Sustainability Tanguis cotton is coined "King Cotton" for creating soft yet strong fibers that are often found naturally in a pure white hue in nature. The plant itself is native to South America and is resistant to common plant diseases that decimate traditional cotton plants. This plant requires no harsh pesticides and is naturally tolerant to challenging weather, producing abundant yields and strong, disease-free crops, making it a top choice for farmers in Peru. SM knitwear is produced in Peru by a workshop started by two women who each spent ten years working in the local knitwear market before beginning their own business. They maintain strong relationships with their clients and their local artisans to execute beautiful, quality garments. Their company respects their artisans, pays them in advance for their time, and partners with them on all aspects of their work. Since 2015, SM has maintained a strong partnership with them, and are currently working together with the workshop and their GOTS-certified yarn mills to innovate solutions to avoid yarn waste. SM is proud to continue to work together with this small, women-run workshop and to honor the skills and traditions of knitwear production in Peru.
