The label is a combination of Lak's father name, Sies, and his mother's, Marjan. Lak spent 5 years designing for Dries van Noten before launching Sies Marjan and bringing color to the notoriously dark NY, NY. The line quickly gained attention for being tastefully tacky and having immersive color stories. Inspiration for his designs come from film and cinema, and his collectsions take viewers on a visual journey. The line is charming and unpretentious with luxury production based in the US and Italy.
