Lot 104 Band Collar Shirt - Cotton Rayon Ivory

A relaxed fitting band collar shirt cut from an airy, lightweight cotton/rayon shirting with a subtle, irregular, textured check pattern throughout. Features a band collar with a rear button hole to attach a collar (a detail copied from the original reference piece dating from the 1910s), a clean finished rear yoke with a central inverted box pleat, a curved hem with a dropped back hem, and a scalloped edge at the base of the closure. Unusually simple for the reference period, the shoulders are cut without a significant slope and the armholes offer a full, loose fit both combining to create a generous, relaxed silhouette. Constructed with hard wearing chain stitched flat felled seams for a long lasting finish; completed with reinforcement gussets at the side seams and dark toned Mother of Pearl buttons throughout.
