Pleated Skirt - Butter

A take on the classic pleated skirt, this piece has an A-line silhouette that sits on the low waist. Pleats throughout the waist taper down to the hem to create a flared shape. Flap pockets adorn the sides while a zipper fly closure completes the front. The front seam is left unsewn towards the hem, allowing for ease of movement. Grey grosgrain ribbon finishes the waist and hem, left raw to age with wear. Designed and sewn in Toronto. Material: 70% cotton, 30% silk. Made in a fine Italian cotton silk, this fabric maintains structure and has a slight sheen for a sleek appearance and luxe feel. About the designer Wanze Song is a Chinese-Canadian designer based in Toronto, Canada. Wanze focuses on innovative patterning and considered functionality to create compelling garments for the everyday. All pieces are meticulously developed from deadstock fabric sourced from Japan and Italy, and sampled in-house. While grounded in the tenets of classic tailoring, Wanze revisits traditional staples, modifying them with a delicate touch and a contemporary sensibility.
