When it came to naming October's color of the month, our team had a bit of a dilemma. "Brown" is not a particularly exciting color. And alternatives like chocolate, mahogany, russet (too...potato?), or walnut weren't particularly sexy or enticing. So, we landed on smoky topaz, a name that is both sexy and enticing—but, in reality, our color of the month is just brown in whatever shade best suits you. It is fall's perfect neutral, and in rich tones or textures like leather, cashmere, tweed, and wool, the smoky topaz pieces in your closet tend to be right on trend with quiet luxury and sophistication.
