This time around, we’re choosing a hue for an entire year! In this series, we pick the colors that are having a moment in fashion and decor, and share our favorite products with you. Every year, the top authority on color, Pantone, announces a color of the year, meant to set the tone for everything from fashion to interior design, product packaging, and more. This year, the color authorities that be have chosen two complementary shades: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating (a warm yellow). According to Pantone, the color combination reflects “a story of color that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly.”
Coming from Seattle, we’re definitely fans of cloudy gray shades as a staple neutral. Adding accents of yellow can create a punch of cheer and sunshine—particularly in vibrant neons for contrast and interest.
